Whew! Here's the last of them! In August we decided to visit my Mom and Dad in Santa Clara, Utah. After the sale of their home, they moved to "civilization" as my Mom calls it and stayed in a home vacated by a couple on an LDS mission.
Dad and I went on a great bike ride in the morning and viewed the red mountains in the sunrise, as well as a horse made out of formed branches that we found at an art store.
Grandma and Grandpa also introduced us to pickle ball, which is a cross between ping pong and tennis. We loved it!!
The owners of the home required the tenants to start up their old-timey car once in a while. It wasn't a really old-timey car, just a replica. But it was a convertible and the weather was perfect for going out for ice cream.
The boys and a great time in it! They sang their catch song of the summer "chicken nugget, biscuit, nugget in a biscuit, dip it all in mashed potatoes." They found it on the internet. You can google it. I'm not going to put a link here because I don't want to be singing it for the next five hours. Or ever. It makes no sense to me.
We got to finally meet my new little niece Morgan Grace Wheeler. Mark put her right to sleep and she put him right to sleep.
Grandparents let their grandkids do anything.
Our second to last outing with the activity group was to Pineview Reservoir. Many people wanted to go, but it ended up being just the Larsen's and us. Boys+rocks+mud+sticks+water= hours of entertainment, no matter what age.
The very last end-of-summer hoo-rah was a visit to Classic Skating and Water Slides courtesy of my friend Diane, whose family owns the chain. We went at a perfect time because the schools in that area had just begun so we had the place almost to ourselves! They had giant inflatables that just begged to be flipped off of, so D.J. obliged.
Whew! There are a few more posts of summer events that merit posts of their own. What!?!? You say! There's more! Yes, yes there is. Party on.
