The first day of school this year was a first for a few reasons. Spencer went to his first day of Jr. High (7th grade), D.J. went to his first day of his last year in elementary school, and James went to his first day at a new school (Spectrum Gifted and Talented program - same school Spencer went to). Ka-sera-sera! Whatever will be, will be! All boys were excited for their new adventure. I got a little teary-eyed. I usually don't, but THEY ARE GROWING UP!
Every year, surrounding neighbors gather for a pot luck breakfast before we all make the trek to schools for the flag raising ceremonies. The group keeps getting smaller every year because children move on to earlier staring schools. Spencer was upset he couldn't attend the breakfast, but that was tempered with the fact that he was a cool Jr. High student, "lovingly" known at "sevies" at school.
This is Brock and D.J. otherwise known as Fred and Bob (self-proclaimed). They think they are hilarious. Sometimes they are, when they are not on a 10 hour loop of chicken nugget biscuit, nugget in a biscuit, nugget biscuit, nugget in a biscuit, chicken. . . STOP!
The first day went off without a hitch. They all enjoyed their classes and teachers and friends!
