D.J. turned 15 on the 15th, this year. HIS GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!
Thought according to this picture it looks like he's six. Maybe the right hand represents the tens and the left hand represents the ones.
D.J. requested a Vote for Pedro shirt, from one of his favorite movies, Napoleon Dynamite.
Along with his cake, he got an equation to help him find his present. Credit to Mark for coming up with the equation that follows suit in our Astling gift giving tradition of never making it easy to just open a gift for a birthday.
When DJ finally worked through the equation, he discover that P=a nine digit number that just happens to respond when punched into a phone. The response was a muted Rick Astley ring tone of his famous and meme-worthy song, Never Gonna Give You Up. DJ had to dial the number a couple of times until he located the phone within the TV cabinet. What followed were a couple of teenage boy screeches of excitement interjected with "Is this mine? Is this mine?" I think he was pretty happy to finally have an actual phone and not just an iPod touch.
Final celebration with a Pedro cake and Huckleberry soda.
