Harry Potter Magic

Airplanes
Monster Trucks
Hot Wheels
Star Wars
Bakugan
These are a few of the phases that my boys have been through. Right now it's Harry Potter. Spencer is currently reading the fourth book and D.J. is reading the second book. When Spencer starts a phase, the rest of the family starts the phase. This one has been fun for me and Mark because we've read all the books. We've made a rule that the boys can't watch the movies until they've read the books. So, every time Spencer has finished a Harry Potter book, he will watch the movie by himself in his bedroom.
Whenever Spencer starts a phase, the whole family is not at rest until we've all been converted. At the beginning of the phase, he just had to check out a book on spells and wizard craft. I was a little weary, but the book just has potions made out of baking soda and vinegar, making wizard cloaks and such. So of coarse we had to do both the potion and the cloak. We now have multiple k'nex wands around the house and have played quidditch. We have however put a stop to pronouncing the killing curse and the curse for excrutiating pain. I have to draw the line somewhere.
The Cloak, the boy and Harry

Quidditch in the front room. The goals are the pillows leaning on the chairs. We did not play with a snitch or a seeker. We were all beaters playing with a ball. Three boys against one Mom. What else is new?

D.J. is converted. He is trying to make a pillow levitate and is astonished as to why it cannot. I try to explain the Harry Potter is not non-fiction.

  1. I think you are the funnest mother ever. Your boys are growing up with the best memories. Will you adopt me? Now?
